I'm an artist and designer currently living in Davenport, Iowa.  In the spring of 2014, I graduated from Black Hawk College with a degree in Visual Communication.

In my past life I was a Special Education teacher; a career which still influences me greatly today.  I worked primarily with fourth and fifth graders in an inclusion setting, meaning I taught lessons in small groups within the main classroom.  Areas of focus were reading, writing, math, and behavior.  Teaching reading was my absolute favorite, probably because I have always been an avid reader and I love helping to instill that love in a child.  Children's picture books are such wonderful worlds to get lost in.

I love creating clean and organized designs.  My strength is working with text in projects such as brochures and advertisements.  From the initial planning stage through completion, I am constantly assessing my work to make sure it is the best solution possible.

I also design fabric at Spoonflower and have a shop called Boju Designs where you can purchase my designs on a variety of types of fabrics.  Designing patterns just might be my favorite thing!

The world of art and design is pretty amazing.  I have never felt so full of ideas or passion for life than I have in the last two years since going back to school.  I often hop out of bed in the middle of the night and rush to my sketchbook to get my ideas out of my head and onto paper.  Sometimes I even feel like I'm going to explode... but in a good way.

Thanks for stopping by & I hope you enjoy my work!
